Oak is one of several web servers that provide individual web space for NAU faculty and staff. The connection to the Oak server is outlined below.

First, you must currnetly be NAU faculty or staff and already have an NAU-Domain account. This is most likely the case if you are reading this. If you meet this first criteria, then you can build an Oak Subweb by going to the subweb self-subscription site.

After you are done created an Oak Subweb follow these steps:

1. Connect to the NAU VPN

2. Open Fetch

After you have installed Fetch you can easily find it by typing in Fetch in the Spotlight located on the upper-right corner of
your screen.

3. Enter the New Connection information

Enter the New Connection information:

Hostname: oak.ucc.nau.edu

Username: NAU\Your NAU User ID

Connect Using: FTP

Password: Your NAU Password

4. Click connect

When you have entered this information, click Connect, and you will be able to put files from your computer to the server and get files from the Oak server.

5. Access the file online

To access the files and directories online, enter http://oak.ucc.nau.edu/abc123/, where abc123 is your username. Then type in the file name.  For example, http://oak.ucc.nau.edu/abc123/index.html.
